Work placement (off the subject )

OK.

Can someone tell me whats the point of work experiences... i mean we do it to learn right about the job and if its some thing we wish to continue doing it... so why the hell do we need to have knowledge of different programmes (meaning know it very well).
soz to the work placement guy but i think his got the wrong end of the stick when it comes to this work placement thing.
i wanted to do web design but he told that i need to know how to do this and that, then he kicked me off to the film department at the other end of college...

OK... as i got that off me i feel better now :P
